Am I able to get a public defender with no proof of income? I work under the table with my uncle. I get paid cash and cannot give proof of income. Also my court hearing is in Washington pa. Would i be able to get a public defender In the downtown pittsburgh office? Or do I have to go to Washington pa to get one?
You will need to prove your income and/or assets that you own to qualify for a public defender. You must be truthful because if later it is discovered that you were not truthful, you could be in more legal trouble than you are presently. My advice is to try and hire a reasonably priced private attorney.
Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals.
