I reside outside the USA. My daughter however lives in the states. She wants to get a car loan because her credit is not high enough. Can I Co-SIgn her? I have Visa to visit the USA, but I used to have a green card when I lived there. I have my ssn and a good credit score.
If the bank is willing to have a non-resident, non-US citizen be a co-signor on the loan, there is no issue. The main issue is to fill out the loan information correctly and do NOT claim US citizenship at any time. Contact a US immigration attorney for assistance.
This a question for the loan officer. In many cases their require citizenship or resident status. You just can send her a good down payment money. That will improve her chances of getting a car.
