We are getting married in LA county next week and apparently it takes two months to get the marriage certificate. Can we start the L2 and EaD process with the customer copy of marriage was without waiting for the certified one ?
You can apply now, with the "customer copy" were already given - I would also pay a little extra and ask for the "Long Form Marriage Certificate" - which should only take 10 days to be sent to you. I would definitely file with that one. Otherwise, file with what you have and wait for the RFE. By the time the RFE arrives, should already have the "right document."

As long as it evidences the marriage date then it’s acceptable to it use for this purpose.
You will be required to produce the actual certificate at some point during the process.
