I have no money. I am court ordered to make motorcycle and medical insurance payments on my ex-wife's behalf. I can't keep up the payments (or pay a lawyer to represent me). Can I file Order to Show Cause (OSC) without an attorney's assistance? Should I write a letter to the judge and place myself on the mercy of the court?
Do not write the judge. It will be a waste of paper and time. Go to the self help center at your superior court and ask them for help in filing an Order to Show Cause. They do not cost anything and deal with helping people that cannot afford attorneys.
