He has been on a wage withholding order for 5-6 years with no problems. His job stopped sending payments in September. I did get almost half of what they owe at the beginning of this month but they have a new excuse every other week for why they haven't sent it. Child support enforcement is less than helpful and I'm concerned that even when/if they get caught up they will continue to have problems sending my money on time. All the information I find on contempt seems to only deal with the father or domestic abuse cases. I obviously can't hire a lawyer to help as I'm barely able to feed me and the kids as it is and we're just waiting for that disconnect notice from the utilities to get here at this point. This can't be legal. And I have no intention of sitting down and waiting any longer.
Absolutely. Keep in mind courts rarely order the offender to pay your attorney fees so proceed carefully.
