I live in CT. Rent from a LL who advised me to sublet, and has accepted checks from each person individually. He has not put them on the agreement, has not provided written permission. Roommates are a nightmare. Gave inaccurate info in their interviews. They harrass me, and intimidate and bully me. It's not to a level yet that I can have them arrested. It's a lot of psychological stuff. LL won't help me get them out. Can I go to court to have them removed?
Yes , if you have authority to sublet and you collect the rent you can evict
You can evict them from the apt, as long as you had the authority to sublet. Since there's not a payment issue and it seems to be a nuisance claim, you should consult with a lawyer to discuss b/c there would be additional steps that would need to be taken to evict the sublet tenants.
If you have no written agreement with them, or you have a written month-to-month agreement, then you can evict them for lapse of time at the end of this month.
