Former landlord wants to pursue me for unpaid rent for 10/2012 - 1/2013. My lease was up and paid in full in 5/2012 and in the said months I was under lease agreement somewhere else. I was not evicted and I have documentation I received from them that clearly proves this claim should not be made against me. I asked if they still wanted to pursue for this and they said they will see me in court.
If your proof is what you say, and they sue you, you could file counter claim for malicious prosecution. You might want to tell them now, that if they bring there action after you point out your defenses, that you will file a counter claim. This might deter them from taking further action.
