I have had an inguinal hernia for almost 10 years and it has never really bothered me. My employer moved me to a new role about 18 months ago where i would be alone and have to lift heavy equipment. Over the past 2 months my hernia has started to bother me a lot more and i think i may need surgery now. Since the injury was pre-existing can i still claim workers comp?
If your doctor believes that work worsened your condition you should file a claim. You will probably want to have an attorney assist you.
