My friend agreed to pay me 25 a day to store his car and it's been 5 months now. He don't want to pay. What can I do ?
Charging someone $25 dollars a day to store their car is not illegal. However, are you sure you can prove your case? Was it in writing? Or was it an oral agreement? Are there any text messages/emails or other written evidence demonstrating that your friend agreed to pay you $25 days to store your car? Did he make some partial payments?
If your friend is refusing to pay, you most likely have to sue in small claims court.
Yes, if you chose to pursue the matte through the courts you would definitely want to do so through small claims court in your area which would keep your costs down. But in the absence of evidence in writing of this arrangement you may have a difficult time even in small claims court.
