Hi. I am a physician currently on J2 visa and interviewing for residency positions currently. My husband is J1 physician with 2 year HRR currently in his second year of training. I am interested to know if i match into a program that sponsors H1 visa, what are my options?
Q1-Can i change from J2 to H1?
Q2-If my only option is J1, can i change status from within US or would i have to apply from consulate in home country?
2. Most efficient is to apply for a new visa from one's home country US consulate.
