Before I moved in I mentioned to the landlord that I had previously been broken into and the door that she had was not safe, it just has a knob lock and can easierly be opened with a credit card or anything slim. literally. Anyway, its been 5 months now in October, still, she hasn't replaced the door. Every single month she says I haven't forgotten the door I am looking into it. but it's been 5 months of feeling unsafe every single night. Can I just send her a letter with my next months payment and explain to her that I am giving my 30 days notice. since the door has not been replaced as promised and I feel unsafe?
Perhaps. The landlord has a duty to repair and may have breached the lease.
