We are 5 months into the lease, it ends in August. We are wanting to end it early. I feel like they have racially profiled us. They have accused us of doing illegal drugs (saying they smell marijuana from outside a deadbolt door, where u can’t even smell a candle burning right next to it from the outside) they have also several times accused us of not picking up droppings from our dog (our dog was staying at a day care during this time because he was getting trained, he was still a puppy) and now they have “lost but found” our rent check on the 5th of this month, (I paid on the 22nd of last month) and it was due on the first of this month. They lost it, said it was in limbo, charged me the 50 $ late fee. On the 5th even after speaking with the manager about it, we were served a letter to leave the premises and it told us to get out by the 9th. Of course, I email the manager and she said it was a mistake and to disregard the letter, she took the $50 late fee off the next day and I looked online and it said my check was scanned in on the 23rd (are they covering their tracks?) we’ve also had issues with our heat, blowing out only cold air in DECEMBER.
Unfortunately, there is no easy way out. Abide by the lease and leave when it is up. Hopefully you get your deposit back. Lay low until you can get out of there. This is just general information. Good luck to you.
