i had an altercation with some people, flying my drone in public airspace, i have it all on camera, the people were trash, got mad at me and i left the area to avoid a fight since i was outnumbered and in fear for my life. i went a flew blocks away in my car by the lake and turned the drone in, it went into bersekr mode remembered the pepple and flew into them a few times until one of them grabbed the drone and was injured...i was arredted, how can this be, it was the drone? how can i get my donre back and beat these charges, not court date set yet
If you were in control of the drone, the drone was you. You need to consult a lawyer right away. Getting back the drone is the least of your problems.
Steven is right. Let me elaborate a wee bit. When you were in control of the drone, if you intentionally or recklessly flew the drone at those people, you can and can be charged with assault even though you may have missed and battery, possibly with great bodily injury if any one was hit.
It's like hitting someone with a car, you're driving, only less dangerous (for the most part),
The drone will be auctioned or destroyed. Right now, it's evidence.
You really should not post any more about this issue on the site. Have you removed the other two?
Make appointments with several attorneys on Monday. It's free. Most have websites with forms to submit to set an appointment if you don't want to wait.
This answer is not intended to establish an attorney-client relationship. The answer given is based upon the question posted; the answer could change based upon additional facts or circumstances not included in the original question.
This is certainly a very unique situation, if you were in control of the drone, you committed the battery. If the drone malfunctioned you did not commit the drone unless you behaved you did not commit a criminal battery. Even if you beat the criminal battery charge you would be facing a law suit. You messed up here, you are facing criminal charges and will not be getting your drone back. Reach out to an attorney immediately.
Doubtful if you cannot follow the free advice given you in your previous two posts. You need to hire an attorney as soon as possible to put a muzzle on your keyboard. As I have said before you need a criminal attorney that is familiar with aviation (a pilot). Your case has defenses that are out of the league and technical expertise of most attorneys. Get some consultations and don't post further.
You have posted here repeatedly, apparently hoping someone will say that you can beat the charges.
The truth is that anything you post on here could potentially be used against you. There is no way to know at this time how your case will be resolved. No doubt you will be better served hiring a lawyer to represent you. You need to speak with lawyers in private not on a public site. There are defenses to the charges. At this point you have been arrested, apparently law enforcement believe you intentionally had your drone hit the people. It certainly would be believable that you wanted to hit them if an altercation had just occurred between you and them. Most lawyers have free consultations, speak to them in private and have them go over the facts of the case.
It is hard to answer your question here. You will need to hire a lawyer who will prepare a defense and depose all of the relevant witnesses. Usually if people are lying there are inconsistent statements about what happened and a good lawyer can exploit these weaknesses. Regardless you are in a tough fight. Do your research and get someone or a law firm you trust.

Agree with everyone else. Find a lawyer. Not sure how the drone remembered the people and attacked them. Stop talking about the case and speak only to a lawyer.
