My ex and I are in the process for child custody which involves child support. I have never petitioned for child support-only the state has opened a case for me because we were never married. Now he says he has a case pending against me for child support fraud but I've only ever recieved one payment.
"he says he has a case pending against me for child support fraud" Really. But this is not how the system works. Has he done anything more than just make this claim? Like, has he filed some kind of case? Ask him to show proof. If he has something, discuss it with local experienced family counsel.
Best wishes for an outcome you can accept, and please remember to designate a best answer.

The only possibility of welfare fraud is if the two of you are living together and you are asking for child support. However, since you have never asked for child support so he is probably blowing smoke. I suggest you contact a lawyer and get help figuring everything out. If you can't afford an attorney, try legal aid or the Idaho Volunteer Lawyers Program. Call the Idaho State Bar to get in touch with IVLP.
Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals.
