state disposition 2/27/17: State of Virginia 2 years sentence, 1 year consecutive and 1 year concurrent. currently serving 13 year federal sentence and have a detainer for the 1 year consecutive from the state case. can i ask to change the consecutive year to a concurrent?
Typically no since they are different sovereigns and the facilities in which you be jailed are federal facilities rather than state facilities. however, if the state is willing to do it, they may recognize the federal time.
