I am currently in US on L1B visa, which will expire in July 2012. I am planning to apply for a L1 extension. My company is also planning to apply for my H1. I would like to know if both my L1 extension and H1 processing can go in parallel. Thanks in advance.
This looks like a previous question. Pick one visa and stick with it. Talk to an immigration lawyer.

Yes. You will be in L status until the hib is approved. If the hib is approved before October 1, then your h1b status will begin on October 1.
