I worked in Dubai, took family on vacation to Florida and to NC to visit family. On my last week of holiday my company informed my by mail that my contract was terminated due to budget cuts, the fired 30% of staff. My brother(US Citizen) works in the Transport/Trucking industry and found a job for me since there is a shortage on CDL drivers. I'm still in the US on my visitors visa and have 2 months left before overstay. Can I apply for green card while still here by changing the status of my visa. If I leave country I will also loose the job opportunity.

Your prospective employer needs to apply for a work visa for you. if successful, you must leave the US (before your I-94 authorized stay expires), and get that visa in your passport. You can then return and work in the US and your brother can file for permanent residence for you. There is a significant wait, so if your employment visa ends or cannot be extended, you will have to leave and wait outside the US.
