I applied for Asylum in the U.S beginning 2016 and now they told me that I might wait 2 more years because they decided to process the new cases first, I have a valid visa to Canada, and I read on Canada immigration website about the exception including (
Document holder exceptions
Refugee claimants may qualify under this category of exceptions if they:
•hold a valid Canadian visa (other than a transit visa)
•hold a valid work permit
•hold a valid study permit
•hold a travel document (for permanent residents or refugees) or other valid admission document issued by Canada, or
•are not required (exempt) to get a temporary resident visa to enter Canada but require a U.S.–issued visa to enter the U.S.)
You need to speak with an attorney who practices asylum in Canada. If you leave, you will not be able to return to the United States.
