I am waiting for a final answer after responding to USCIS's RFE in April. I am afraid that my application will be denied as more than two months went by and I still haven't got an answer. I really want to be in the US as my boyfriend is American.
If the O-1 gets denied, one of my options is applying for a F-1 visa until I come up with a better plan. Will being denied an O-1 visa make it harder to get a student visa in an English academy, for example?
Thank you so much in advancedI forgot to add that I am in my country waiting for the visa and currently have no visa, but never overstayed or did anything unlawful. Thank you.
Only if you do that while still in a valid nonimmigrant status. Awaiting adjudication of a nonimmigrant status is not equivalent to being in a valid nonimmigrant status.

since you are applying for visa abroad, yes you can, but your chances will be minimal if one is denied.
You would need to file a change of status while in a valid nonimmigrant status. waiting for a decision on a previously filed immigration petition is not a valid status. You may also have difficulty obtaining a F-1 visa to attend an English academy depending upon the basis for your O-1 visa. You really should consult an experienced immigration attorney for a case-specific assessment.

Yes, you can try applying for an F-1 visa. But any previous denial, depending on the reason for denial, can affect any future visa application, even if it’s a different visa.
