I am moving this to family law because there are some family judges in LA courts who will scold litigants if they slip and say "my kids" instead of "our kids" and maybe this is what you are talking about. If so, write to the judge and apologize, and send a copy to the other parent. Explain that you don't have the benefit of their long education, parental involvement, political connections, and free time to consider your family situation and come up with the right way to phrase things, because you are not making $180,000 per year like they are. See if they treat you better next time. Good luck.
