I was charged with Assault 4 DV during a custody dispute about 6 years ago The outcome was "dd" . "Deferred, dismissed". I still have to answer "yes" when asked about being charged with a crime, and explain the situation on job applications. If I have this charge vacated off my record completely, can I then answer "No", and not have to explain the scenario when asked about being charged with a crime? I of course have no other criminal records. Thanks,
I think you have to answer yes but an employment lawyer would be a better person to ask. As for the question, are you sure it doesn't ask if you've been charged or whether you've been convicted of a crime? You've not been convicted of a crime but you have been charged with a crime.
By responding to this inquiry no attorney client relationship is intended or established. The answer is for informational purposes only.
