2 years ago I was violently beaten by my ex, after years of extreme violence. Because I was terrified I dropped the charges for fear of being murdered.
Most likely you are not able. Double jeopardy would most likely apply if the case went to court. If you only spoke with detectives and no formal charges were taken out, jeopardy may not have attached and then it would come down to whether any relevant statute of limitations applies.
Was he charged? If you were violently beaten then the prosecutor would not and should have not dropped the charge and you could not have done that on your own. Did the case even go to court??
