So my hubs did a stupid thing. Kicked out a grill on a vehicle due to a parking issue. We asked for an estimate, bought parts and gave cash for repairs as stated on a quote. All this was done via a 3rd party, because the car owner didn't want to deal directly with us. A week later he says he has the car fixed and doesn't want he parts, just money for the parts. We have asked repeatedly for invoices/ receipts something to show how much paid before giving any more money. He returned the parts to us, because the dealership wouldn't refund to him since he didn't pay for them. He is now stating he is is going to press charges, because we want a receipt before we pay. He is refusing to provide receipts for amount owed.
It is a violation of the Texas Criminal Code to threaten criminal prosecution as a means of bargaining over a civil dispute. Good luck.
