I was asked to leave my extended stay hotel for a multiple of reason. That were all false. When asked for my security deposit back I was asked to wait 3 days and a check would be written. My understanding is that this could be a landlord/tenant situation depending on whether you made the hotel room your primary residence, and/or whether you resided there for more than 90 consecutive days. (If so, it triggers the Virginia Residential Landlord Tenant Act protections.)
You may want to consult with a local landlord/tenant/real estate attorney to assess what your rights are in your particular situation as it is not typical.
