I have been on maternity leave for 12 wks and before I left on leave, the county I work for hired a purchasing director whom they now took my most important job duty and gave to her before i returned to work without letting me know if i did something wrong. When I questioned it, I was told that the county attorney suggested that this change be made. I have seniority over this purchasing agent, but have been reminded many times that I am just the admin asst. Before this took place, I was subpoenaed to testify against the manager whom is my main boss. I feel that this is retaliation being this isn't the first time they've done this behind my back while I was on leave. I was on maternity leave two years ago also and something similar happened. I'm the only one they treat different please help
No, this is not right. You can not face retaliation for taking fmla leave/maternity leave. You need to talk to an experienced employment lawyer.
