I was rear-ended making a left hand turn into my place of employment. I was stopped, waiting for the oncoming traffic to clear when struck. It took 2 weeks for the insurance company to accept liability (they had to contact their insured, I opened the claim). My vehicle was deemed totaled. It's been hard to get a response from them as it takes them at least a week or two. Insurance hasn't offered a rental, have 2 adjusters each telling me something different at times. I think vehicle appraisal is low, won't answer q's in timely fashion if at all. I get the run around for loss of wages. I received one incomplete offer. Can one adjuster rescind the other adjusters offer? Almost 100 days in I'm out a vehicle, towing, storage, double wear & tear on only vehicle left just to get back & forth to work. I didn't go to hospital, I couldn't afford it. One adjuster offer $20 per day for loss of use of vehicle for 45 days, the other offers $20 for two days only. One adjuster offer reimbursement for tow & storage, the other says its not covered. No consideration for time, aggravation, stress, soreness etc. just delay & run around. What is my recourse on a strapped budget? I am 0% at fault.
Contact a personal injury attorney in your area. They often work on a contingent basis, meaning that your strapped budget situation could be a non-issue. Best wishes!
