My husband is on pretrial probation. He also has Medulary sponge kidney and MUST drink a lot of fluids. This disease causes him to urinate basically sand. He was recently violated because his PO accused him of trying to dilute his urine. In one year my husband has 13 surgeries for very large kidney stones and if he doesn't stay hydrated he will get them again. He has now been in jail since 2/2/18 and being denied medical treatment. He has been on this probation since Sept. 2017 with weekly reporting.
I'm not in your state.
He needs to get that info to the probation department and/or to his judge. If he is facing a probation violation, get the info to his attorney.
Drinking to dilute a UA sample is much different than just hydrating yourself more than a normal person would. However, his doctor should be able to explain all that in terms that probation will understand.
