During the return of process court date (family offense petition), the respondent filed for an adjournment and was granted. I just realized that the timing of the new date is very inconvenient for me as it doesn't allow me to fully prepare due to obligations in the few days before the court date. Is it possible for me as the petitioner to also adjourn it as well, thus also extending the active temporary order of protection? Any advice would be highly appreciated. Thank you.
