I have a friend that currently gets paid via personal checks. Which are then cashed. Is a written letter stating how much they considered an eligible proof of income?
If the child support case is a lawsuit pending in a court of law, an unsworn letter from an employer may not be admissible evidence because it is hearsay. Getting the employer who wrote the letter to testify will solve that problem. Moreover if there is other admissible evidence going to show the uncooperative parent is earning money--and trying to hide that fact--the court may consider the employer letter as additional support.
