Officer tailed me all the way to a gas station , after I parked , he then parked behind me & cut his lights on , he walked up to the car & didn't say anything to me , he just started questioning my friend in the backseat . To make a long story short I was arrested after they searched my car , which I said "I do not consent too" , after I was in jail for a day for what they found , I was given a traffic ticket stating I "failed to maintain lane" , I knew this was false , he had to make it up to gain probable cause . Besides that , I have read several posts stating that an officer doesn't have to tell you why he pulled you over , but don't they at least have to ask you for license & registration ?
The police under Terry v Ohio says the police can detain you for a reasonable period of time.
