Mechanic had given me time to save up money for repair but unfortunately could not save up so I called him to let him know I will not be needing his service(mind you there were several times I had mentioned to him I could pick my car up from his shop so it wouldn't be a burden on him and he assured me it was OK but now that I fully know I won't be able to fix my car he wants to charge me for storage( never mentioned storage fee before)
Yes a car mechanic can hold your car as security for storage liens in Texas. See TPC 70.003(c): http://www.statutes.legis.state.tx.us/Docs/PR/htm/PR.70.htm.
