I recently purchase a vehicle cash. I signed a bill of sale stating the amount of cash I paid and that I owe $1000 for tax, title and license. Less than 2 weeks later the transmission went out. I brought the car back and ask for my money back but they wouldn't give it to me. Now this is suppose to be a cash only car lot, not a buy here pay here or a certified dealer. He then informed me that he had a lien on my title and all he could do is make the repair and make me sign another paper ( an agreement to pay for the repair). I now owe him $2000 and I don't want to pay. Can they repossess my car or just take me to court for the money? I haven't made a payment yet and its now coming up on 2 months. I want my money back or not to owe them but they still have my registration.
the dealer has a lien on your car for the repair costs. if he sold you a defective vehicle that is a separate set of rights. you should consider suing him in justice court
this s few vice is not a substitute for an in office interview and paperwork review. it does create an attorney client relationship.
