I rent a place and the landlords just comes by to tell me he is raising the rent cause he gets charged to do the taxes on his property can he just raise it cause they charge him to do his taxes
Well, yes and no. Yes, your landlord can raise your rent (assuming you aren't on a lease or live in a rent-controlled unit), but your landlord cannot do so willy-nilly. You have to be provided with a written notice of the rent increase, depending on how big of an increase it is.
