If the carpet in a rental property is stained not due to accident, negligence or neglect but is stained from using the house in the manner in which the house is intended, meaning going up and down stairs, normal use, but the stain will not come out, can the landlord charge us to replace the carpet?
A tenant is not responsible for damages due to normal wear and tear. Are the stains truly normal wear and tear will be the issue to be proven or disputed if the landlord chooses to withhold security deposit for these charges.
