Recently received several phone calls from a loss prevention investigator representing my Former employer. He wanted me to come speak with them regarding an urgent matter, I asked what it might be about and they said I would have to come in and speak face-to-face, however I was advised from several attorneys not to speak to this individual. So I declined to come in. With that said the next phone call I received was a threat that this was the last call I would get from them , and that they are forwarding the information that they supposedly had on me to the authorities, which As of now will be the ones I must soeak to reguarding this matter.
Now I'm looking over my shoulder every 5 minutes wondering if police are going to show up at my door to arrest me? Not sure what I did wrong & didn't think I had any obligation to them once my employment ended, especially to go speak with them, but now I'm kind of worried because I'm not sure what I'm facing.
yes they can file charges against you and if the police come and want to talk to you, don't talk to them either. you are not required to convict yourself. say nothing and lawyer up if you are charged.
