Can a Debt collector place a derogatory account twice on your credit report?
One year later March 3, 2021 another debt collector placed another derogatory account on my credit report. Which lowered my credit score even more. I was reading that a debtor can’t report twice? but does this apply for multiple debt collectors?

Yes and No. Lets say you have account #123 and you paid $400 towards the balance. Debt Collector A can report this on your credit report as long as they have the account. If it was assigned to them and is later transferred, the new Debt Collector should report the correct balance. Additionally, Debt collecter A has to remove the account from your credit report. It is best to consult a credit attorney as a review is needed to see if your rights are being violated. Many offer a free consultation.
