I trusted my daughters. They/we got my credit cards maxed out for the most part. They failed to help me make the payments. I struggled for 2 years keeping them paid. Finally it all collapsed and I could not keep up with the payments. I reached out to the card companies about hardship terms and payments. Some would agree others would not. It was their way or no way. I got hooked up with Freedom Debit Relief. Big Mistake. That made it worse. Now I have one debit collection law firm trying to get a judgment against me. Can they take my Social Security or my VA Disability Check?
Your social security money cannot be taken by credit card companies. I believe that's also true for the VA disability funds but I suggest you get confirmation from either a VA or bankruptcy attorney.

In general SSA Disability payments are not subject to collection. Contact the VA to determine if a VA Disability check is subject to collection.
