Can a dealership change the appraisal value of a trade-in after the contract was signed. The car was driven in, appraised in person and valued at $1000, now the dealership wants to devalue the trade. Keep in mind, all contracts and paperwork has been signed and we have taken delivery of the new vehicle, registered and insured. The dealership is saying if we don't come in to restructure the contract, they can call it in as stolen. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
It may depend on the contract but generally no. I would need to review your paperwork.
