This cop pulled over my husband and he issued him a ticket for driving without a license when he has a permit license from Maryland can they do that I thought that they can get you for driving without a license driver but not for driving without a license when he had a permit
A permit to drive, is not a driver's license. I suggest that you speak with an attorney because if he pleads guilty or is found guilty, he could lose the right to get a license for a period of time. Has he ever been licensed in another State/Country. Again, you should speak with an attorney. Best of luck
Yes it is a valid ticket. And someone who has lived in NJ for 2 months may not drive on another states license.

Yes a cop can give you a ticket for anything, the question should be can they sustain a conviction and that will be decided by a judge. I suggest hiring or consulting with a lawyer as more facts are needed to tell you whether you have a defense.

He has to have an NJ license if he has been here 60 days. I do not kow if a permit allows him to drive in NJ.
The officer certainly can. Your husband should get an attorney.
