I bought a car 1 week ago to this day and the financial company is called me for an interview. I provided them with the information they needed. Financial company says then need my pay stub and proof of address from the dealership. The dealer ship never asked me for those. They told me I was approved for the loan but that financial company says I'm not approved yet. This seems fishy to me. Should I wait for the dealership to contact me or do I have an obligation to contact them?
It is not clear that the dealer approved financing. In many cases in Illinois, the documents you sign state that the dealer is not bound unless it can find someone to buy the paper.
You would be well advised to contact the dealer. Also, make sure you have a copy of everything you signed.
