I am a 1099 contractor with the State of Washington and I take referrals from the Children's Administration providing a supervisory role for them. I was told that, because of my gender, I could not work on a specific referral I had taken and had already put time into (This has happened once before as well).
I know there is an exclusion in Title 7 for 1099 contractors, but can the State actually discriminate against its contractors in such a manner using Title 7 as a shield?
