I applied for VAWA, the case was approved, had an interview 3 months ago, since then- USCIS keeps saying that FBI does my background check. Its been 3 months already, and I didn't get anything after the interview.
My attorney says "stay calm, have to wait"
But I m not agree with that. 3 months, its a lot. And I have never had any problems with police, and I don't have even driving tickets, paid taxes etc. I am going to contact with a congress person in my state to do an inquiry on my behalf.
What should I do in such case? Wait or do something?
My attorney prefer to wait, but as I know if I don't do anything I can stuck in the background check for years.
You indicate you have an attorney - listen to your attorney. There is no regulatory time limit for the background check.
