Hello. I had an auto lease with Hyundai Motor Finance. The term date was 9/7 and there are post mileage charges due on 1/25/20. Hyundai hit my credit for 11/19 for 30 days past due and my credit dropped 30 points. How can I be dinged with a 30 day late on anything past the lease contract when the car was turned in, and my mileage payment is not due yet? Do I have a valid dispute?
If the facts are accurate and you are not leaving anything relevant out, you should dispute the reporting on all 3 credit reporting agencies providing the facts of your dispute. Send the letters certified mail or make sure to download and save filing confirmations on-line and save a copy of your letters as well. Wait 60 days. If the item is still reported on your credit reports and not corrected, whether it be on one or all 3, contact a consumer attorney for the next steps.
