I want to register a sole proprietorship in California but I live in Taiwan, but I am a US citizen, Can I do the whole process from Here?
My business will be online and in the form of selling online courses. Can this whole process be done online? or do I need to come back to the US to do this?
If it can be done from here what are the steps?
If it can't be done what are my options?
Could a lawyer do this for me? what are the costs?
There are thousands of competent lawyers in California--and in every other state of the union--that would love to help you get started in a small business; however, there are legal implications and ramifications to doing what you want to do, so you should expect to pay a reasonable fee for service. Try searching on AVVO using the "Find a Lawyer" tab on the home page.
You have asked, again, a question that you asked yesterday, so i will repeat the answer that I provided yesterday:
Sole proprietorships are not legal entities, thus they are not registered.
This means that, as a practical matter, what you want to accomplish will require forming a corporation or a limited liability company (LLC) here.
I have helped dozens of international clients form businesses in the U.S. and have blogged extensively about the challenges they face. I recommend that you start at https://danashultz.com/foreign-countries/ and follow links from there.

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not. What determines Avvo Rating?Experience & background
