My child's father were abusive and a sexual preditor and abuses me and my child I'm in a dv shelter and he can't find me but now he's gone to child services on me and is making it look like I'm the abusive one if I change my social security number and name and my sons social security number. Can that change his legal status and can I be apprehended by the courts if I leave Georgia to keep my family safe.
You need to immediately contact an attorney in your area to get an immediate consultation. "Two wrongs do not make a right". I believe that it is safe to say that you do not want to do something that will allow your child's father to obtain custody of your son. If you commit fraud by wrongfully changing yours and your son's identity, you may wind up in jail thus allowing the father custody of your son. You should be able to obtain an Order of Protection for you and your son that includes privacy provisions, that if broken by the father provide for significant jail time for him. The law can protect you, but you need to see an attorney right away.
