I was arrested for delivery and manufacturing of marijuana and was told that that crime was punishable by up to 4 years and or a $20,000 fine. How do i know if i am eligible for it or not?
I suspect this is not a federal charge, and it is clear you are not fully aware of your position and risks. I will there only recommend that you stop speaking to anyone except your attorney who is the person to advise you of your options.
To the PROSPECTIVE client, please call with more details, and for an appointment. My PRELIMINARY answer to your question(s) is for general purposes and based upon the information you have conveyed. It is based on such limited information that it is a general answer, and should not be relied upon as a reason for your action or inaction. My response does NOT establish an attorney-client relationship and such may only be established by mutual agreement, and the signing of a written retainer agreement, which will generally require payment for our services, as this is what we do for a living and, just like you, we must get paid for our work.
A charge of this nature takes an experienced attorney to help navigate the legal process. Being that it is a pending case, I agree with brother counsel above that you should cease speaking of the case online and retain an attorney who practices in Macomb County. There are many options for you going forward and you may be eligible for YTA status however it is best that an attorney explain all of your options as well as negotiates on your behalf so that you achieve the best outcome for your future. Many attorneys on Avvo provide free consultations. I recommend availing yourself to those and find an attorney you are comfortable with. You are too young to be dealing with these types of charges. Obtain counsel to review your case and circumstances. Best of Luck to you.
