I recently subleased the room.the old roommate(who was leaving) and I signed the lease amendment but the other roommate refuses to sign it even after she's been asked from the building management!
After having some difficulties with her I really want to move out but the leas will end at Jun 25th.
I've heard because she didn't sign the amendment I can move out and I'm not responsible for the rent at all.is it true or not?
I'd have to read over the documents. Consult with a local landlord/tenant attorney. Even if you have to pay a small fee it is best to get good professional advice. Good luck.
I agree with my colleague; to be SURE, I think you will need a good local real estate attorney to look over whatever it is you have signed thus far, and investigate the facts a bit. It certainly sounds as if you have been living there, and have paid rent to someone, and - you have signed a lease, so you are likely a tenant in possession, and have some liability to the LL. My guess is that whomever told you that you could move out and not be held responsible at all - is NOT a lawyer. Am a I right?

If there is not counter signature on the addendum, there is not agreement as far as it goes. You are not bound by that written agreement. It would be prudent that you provide that "your offer to enter into the amendment is withdrawn for her failure to sign". Put in writing and document receipt (Hand delivery, Mail certified mail) this precludes the last minute signature to hold you to it.
