My dog pushed my gate open and attacked a neighbors dog in my yard. The neighbor was walking his small dog that was on a leash. I felt bad since it was my dog who did the attacking so I paid the emergency surgery and stay in pet hospital. 2 weeks later the owner says he saw a discharge in his dogs eye. He took him in and he has had to have corrective surgery on his cornea. Another 2500 bill. I told the owner I would only pay 1k as I feel it should have been found initially. The owner suggested I file on my Insurance. I WILL NOT. I thought by paying the initial AND a portion of the 2nd bill is fair enough. Am I responsible for paying the entire bill.
If the eye issue was caused by the actions of your dog, then you are responsible.
