My sister only has 1% of the trust. She is threatening the family to utilize my mothers condition dementia to get what she wants. The property of 3 homes were put into myself and my son prior to the surgery that caused her dementia. She is demanding to see the trust and my mother is still alive. Am I required to show it to her? Does she have any legal standings. Should I obtain a lawyer? What could she get if she did take us to court
It would be a good idea to get legal advice before taking any action. Regardless whether she actually has standing to do anything right now, she could still take you to court and make things difficult and expensive. You may be able to satisfy everyone involved without litigation.
