The apartments I live in are charging me a $25.00 valet trash pickup fee, which is not in my rental contract. I don't use the valet pick. The trash dumpster is a few feet from my apt building, so I take out my own trash. If this fee is not in my rental contract agreement, am I obligated to pay the monthly fee?
No, you are not obligated to pay fees not in your lease. You might want to talk to the apartment manager about it. If they insist on recovering amounts not provided for in your lease, you should speak to a landlord/tenant lawyer.
